Shanequa Evans

Program Coordinator

Shanequa Evans serves as the Program Coordinator of the Promise Youth University Afterschool program. Prior to joining the Cornwall Center, she served as Assistant Director of the Complete for – Nita M. Lowey 21st CCLC, and Director of the Great Falls Teen Center for the New Jersey Community Development Corporation (NJCDC).

Joining the NJCDC team as Assistant Director, Shanequa supported the development of afterschool enrichment programing for 9th-12th grade students, using a college and career exploration theme. Prior to her promotion to Director, Shanequa served as the interim Director for the 21st CCLC summer program, overseeing student recruitment and staff professional development. In 2017, Shanequa was promoted to Program Director for the Great Falls Teen Center. As Director she oversaw the program’s daily operation, coordinated school-day enrichment activities, supported staff with curriculum development, and developed new student recruitment and retention initiatives.

Shanequa Evans earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Leadership of Public Organizations at Rutgers University.
