Irene Welch is the Administrative Assistant for the Joseph C. Cornwall Center for Metropolitan Studies, Rutgers University-Newark. As the administrative assistant, she is a major part of the Cornwall Center’s day-to-day operations. Ms. Welch is responsible for the general administrative support of the Center, including coordinating logistics for meetings, special events, and travel.
Prior to joining the Cornwall Center in October 2001, Ms. Welch was the Program Assistant with the College of Nursing, Center for Professional Development, Rutgers University-Newark from 1991 to 2001, providing administrative support to the Assistant Dean. Prior to joining Rutgers, Ms. Welch was employed with patent and trademark law firms in New York, and was a civil servant in Belize, Central America.
Ms. Welch holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology from Rutgers University-Newark
