We were pleased to celebrate National Civic Learning Week at The Future of Civics event hosted in partnership with CivicsNJ and Rutgers University-Camden on March 11, 2026.
Held at the Campus Center in Camden, the event brought together educators, community leaders, students, and civic organizations from across New Jersey to reflect on the past, present, and future of civic learning and engagement. Throughout the day, we connected with participants at the Civics Expo, which brought together a variety of local and national organizations that shared information about their work in civic education, community engagement, and public service. Organizations hosted tables with informational materials, posters, and resources, giving participants the opportunity to learn about their initiatives, ask questions, and connect with groups working to strengthen civic participation and learning across communities.
The program included panel discussions, collaborative conversations, and opportunities to highlight the importance of civic learning and engagement across communities. The event also celebrated student voices through essay awards and discussions on expanding civic participation among young people.
We are grateful to have been part of this inspiring gathering and to connect with partners committed to advancing civic learning across New Jersey.
