Erin R. Santana

Postdoctoral Associate

Erin R. Santana is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Joseph C. Cornwall Center for Metropolitan Studies at Rutgers University-Newark. She recently completed her PhD in American Studies at Rutgers-Newark with a dissertation on the role of history-telling and collective memory in the Ocean Hill-Brownsville community control conflict. Erin formerly worked in museums, historic sites, and public high schools in Brooklyn; she continues to organize with student, teacher, and parent activists in the New York metro area. She has served in many leadership roles in the Rutgers AAUP-AFT and was a core organizer of their 2023 strike.
