Disconnected Youth In Newark - Joseph C. Cornwall Center for Metropolitan Studies Skip to main content

The Newark Opportunity Youth Network (OYN) is the city’s local effort to build a broad-based reengagement ecosystem of complementary services to stem the tide of young people leaving school before graduation, while simultaneously re-engaging those who are currently detached from school and work. OYN seeks to increase the number of quality educational options available for the city’s opportunity youth population. Cornwall’s research is especially concerned with understanding how youth experience the OYN environment.
